Sleepy Wednesday

Hello all,

The fourth of July was fun. Not the greatest ever but we fit in all the essentials; parade, Bar-B-Que, water fight, nap. I missed out on the traditional drive home after the fireworks and while trying not to fall asleep. oh well.

The power went out this morning giving me hope we may have to go home, that didn't happen either.

I did manage to surf a little....

I found this great photo of the days last minutes.

I need a camera.

--------------

I also found this great image of a spider web covered in rain.

Perfect.

I can't be the only person who enjoys great photographs.

--------------

I have been hearing a lot of buzz about the transformers movie that is coming out. As a kid I had a couple of these toys but they were so expensive I was really priced out of playing with them. Now as an adult I am priced out of playing with their real life counterparts. Oh well. Check out the 2009 Camaro.

This is transformer alter-ego 'bumblebee'.

--------------

I found another cool example of urban advertising.

--------------

This is a cool optical illusion. Which of these bars are larger?

Neither, that's why it is an optical illusion. Don't believe me, watch this.

I promise that I don't plan out the things I find on the internet. I may lay off the 'sick things that happens to humans' after this. But....

This guy is holding a piece of his own skull.

Coming soon to Ogden -

I was going to post some link to video from a Japanese Game show but they will have to wait until tomorrow.

Fast Day

I missed a blog on Friday. It was a short day and I took Joseph to work with me. I didn't really have time sorry.

About an hour ago they told me we were off at noon today so I will make this short and sweet.

Surfs up........

I am hooked on the World Cup but now that England has lost I don't know who I will cheer for. I heard today that David Beckham was calling it quits as captain.

There is this weird story about a girl who had an accident that ripped her face off. The story included pictures. Thought I'd share, not because it is gross but I have never heard of this before.

There are other pictures with this story including what the girls looks like 10 years after the operation.

Warren Buffett, the world's second most wealthy man, announced he will donate 30 billion to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. It is estimated that this foundation will have over $60 billion to give out.

This article talks about how much $60 billion is.
---------------

I found another beautiful all American image, taken in France.

------------

I read an article about an image of a tornado and a rainbow.

Here is a page of more amazing storm images.
---------------

Here is a video of the most complex paper model in the world.

I love the show 'whose line it is anyway'. My wife and I have spent many evenings giggling on the couch watching this show. I have only see this clip in the Internet. I came across it again today and thought I would post it. Here is Richard Simmons.

Have a good Fourth of July. I will be back on the fifth.

Happy Grandma and an Ugly Dog

The power went out again twice last night. Lucky no squirrels were harmed in the making of that reality [that I know of].

We went to visit two new couples, the Kunzs and Dances. The Kunz live on Virginia Drive and the Dances live on Marilyn Drive. We had a good visit with both couples.

Today has been slow again. I have things to do but I am waiting for other people to get me what I need.

While I waited I surfed a little.....

Have you ever received one of those scammer emails from a guy in Africa who received your name and would like you to send him money so he can send you money. If not this may not be for you but if you have this wooden keyboard represents revenge.

This guy named Trotter [no kidding] turned the scam around and received two very nice souvenirs for his efforts. I felt bad for the African guy until I remembered that he was trying to take money from an unsuspecting person.

MSNBC has this online quiz, "When immigrants want to become Americans, they must take a civics test as part of their naturalization interview before a Citizenship and Immigration Services officer. The questions are usually selected from a list of 100 sample questions that prospective citizens can look at ahead of the interview. Some are easy, some are not. We have picked some of the more difficult ones."

I scored an 85 [see above image]. I missed numbers 8, 13, and 19.

Should you be welcomed immediately to the Land of the Free or sent home for some more homework? Find out here!

I found this great image of a wheat field. I conjured images of amber waves of  grain and purple mountains.

I realized that old 0670 was taken in the UK. I still like the picture so I thought I would still post it.

----------------

This image is notable to me not because of what it shows but because of where it was taken.

"Deep in the mountainous regions of southern China, in a province named Yunnan, or 'over the clouds', by Emperor Wu in 109 BC due to its remoteness from the capital, there is a 40 ft statue of the new great Chinese leader, Optimus Prime."

Follow the link to read the story but basically they loved Optimus Prime so much they made this statue because of all he represents. So much for the Statue of Liberty.

I have enjoyed following the World Cup this year. Brazil looks really good, they could win the whole thing. There have been quite a few stories about why each Brazilian player only goes by one name.

This little widget helps you create your own Brazilian 'one name'. Eleven was always my number when I played soccer as a kid.

Last year, I read a story about the world's ugliest dog. The poor thing looked like it have been in an oven that makes jerky. The week after he received his title he died. Now a new winner has been crowned.

I think he may share his barber with my brother Mose. [Just kidding, I don't want to offend my only reader ]. This guy is a real looker compared to last year's champ. Here he is in full glory -- I present Sam, the 2005 ugliest dog .

I love Dr. Seuss. I love his books and their wonderful illustrations and whimsical names. Today I came across a bike that Seuss himself would be proud of.

The best part is this baby folds up.

The worst part is its name 'The Locust'. I do not like it Sam I am. Such a cool bike deserves a better name than some common plague. Seuss himself wouldn't stand for it to have less than 6 vowels and at least one hyphen!!!!!! This naming will not do, it makes little Cindy-Lou Who cry boo-hoo.

----------------

My grandma Trotter would to send me all kinds of emails ranging from very dirty jokes to pages and pages of cute little animals. Today I came across a similar site with oodles of cute animals [sorry no dirty jokes].

This little guy jumped out at me, but in my haste I did not save the link. This happy fish will have to do.

Last but not least is this 'Star Wars' PSA. Don't drink at warp speed!!!
