Look with your eyes not with your hands

The tide is still coming in. I came, I saw, I surfed.....

Yesterday my wife bought my kids pumpkins to carve for Halloween. As excited as they were I was dreading the process. I think it is one of the traditions we do that I like the least. So today I came across this 'game' that allows you to easily and cleanly carve your own cyber-jackolantern.

Ahhhhh, that's more like it!

I have been following this story about colleges that may lose their Division-I football status if they don't maintain an average attendance of more than 15,000 people per game. Utah State University is near the top of the list in this category.

There are 15 schools on the NCAA minimum attendance radar:

2005 AVG - 2006 YTD AVG - SCHOOL - Two year rolling avg (must >15,000 for DI-A)
5,219 -- 11,686 - Eastern Michigan -- 8,453
11,476 -- 6,431 - Florida Atlantic -- 8,954
10,896 -- 13,134 - Utah State -- 12,015
10,072 -- 16,753 - Rice -- 13,413
10,893 -- 16,011 - Akron -- 13,452
12,953 -- 14,138 - Ball State -- 13,546
12,735 -- 14,860 - Temple -- 13,798
14,929 -- 13,906 - Bowling Green -- 14,418
15,241 -- 14,386 - Miami (OH) -- 14,814
15,175 -- 15,135 - Idaho -- 15,155
15,147 -- 15,193 - Florida International (FIU) -- 15,170
17,591 -- 15,482 - Louisiana - Lafayette -- 16,537
18,630 -- 14,811 - SMU -- 16,721
18,033 -- 16,194 - Ohio -- 17,116

I have always thought Utah State is more like Weber State that the U of U or BYU. Maybe they should consider just dropping the level. If they can compete on the national level in D-II it would be better than the bottom 10 of D-I. I'm not sure what other implications it would have for the school.

I came across this site that posted the 'Digital Camera Photographer of the Year'. The images were divided into six categories.

This is the overall winner.

Cat's Tongue [Animals & Nature]

Tiger under water [Animals & Nature]

Lower Antelope [Dramatic Landscapes]

Purwantonugroho Dramaticlan [Dramatic Landscapes]

Check out the rest, this site is worth the stop.

Check out this great Marvel Character Composite

[The link takes you to a much larger version.]

Is there anyone they left out? If your not sure you can always check out the 'Marvel Directory' to make sure.

Check out this great photo of the 'Shuttle Launch Seen From ISS'.

This is a private photo taken from the International Space Station. It was found when as it was circulated between friends in their email.

You have to admit that is pretty cool.

I am still search for the perfect Halloween costume. I need it by Saturday for my family party. I know for sure what I don't want:

What's the deal with the 'brown log' themed costumes?

My grandma sent me this picture several years ago. Back then I may have got it just to make her laugh but today there's NO WAY!!

I can't image wearing this! I'm not really sure if he's being Elvis or a Camel Jockey! [and I don't mean someone from the far-east. Leave a comment if you don't  understand my meaning.] There is no way I would wear this either!!!!!

This is getting warmer but I think I would rather be Roddy from 'They Live'.

This one is pretty good but I haven't seen the movie yet. It just came out on DVD today.

OH YEA!!! This is great. To bad they are sold out this season.  I thought I had found the answer. My youngest son is going to be Jack Sparrow and my middle son is going to be Will Turner. This would have been ideal!!!

Back to the drawing board!

That's all for today!
