Got Milk?

Well my youngest brother found me on myspace today. Not that I was hiding or anything I just expected it to take longer than it did. He's a great guy, it's too bad had to grow up in Provo. No one good ever came from Provo.

Anyway I went surfing again today...

I have seen this type of art before. This week it seems to be getting a lot of attention. I would like to know how he does it.

This is a street sign that has an image painted or stuck to it that is a replica of the scenery behind the sign. This gives the sign the effect of being transparent. Blogworthy at least. Here is the link.

Have you ever watched the show about the worst jobs ever. The guy who cleans out clogged city sewers, they guy who sucks the grease from school lunchrooms. Have you heard about the guy
from New Zealand who gets inside a fake cow to gather the bulls, um.... juice?

This guy has not been on the show YET. Do you know about the Darwin awards? That's a way of remembering people who get themselves killed in remarkably stupid ways. Darwin would say it is human natural selection. We there should be an award for the guy who invents a machine that makes him have a worst job ever. This guy invented this Bull "milking" machine. He says it is a lot easier to collect the "goods" this way. Don't believe me? Here's the link.

I saw this photo today. It matched my mood at the time I saw it.

There has been a lot of debate lately about illegal immigrants. I found some photos that make a statement on their own.

Here is a preview of the new Time Magazine. Somebody scribbled on it.

Why do you think they used red ink? Blue is my favorite color.

Dirty Cups

Well, here I am blogging to myself.

I have a new friend today .

She is a lady from my ward. I'm not sure she know's who I am . Oh well, this is just an experiment anyway. The rss feed works rather well. I let some of the YM in my ward know I have seen their profiles. They are good kids but they still seemed a little uncomfortable that I had read their profiles.

My friend's father died on Saturday from cancer. We are driving to the viewing tonight. It's really hard talking to you friend about death. I think just being there is as important as what you say. I guess that's why we are going tonight.

I went surfing today.

Last Friday my wife and I took our kids to see Over the Hedge at the drive-in. I grew up watching movies at the drive-in and I am glad I can still take my kids to them. Luckily the drive-in we went to we didn't have to watch our step....

I saw this important public service poster. I really 'Like' it
.

I really was excited for the first game for the US in the World Cup. I watched games all weekend and found the ESPN360 stream to watch it today. The Czechs won 3-0.

It made me want to play soccer...

and he drains another goal.....

Friday!!!

My office usually closes during the summer at noon on Fridays. The only exception is when there is a lot of work to get done. They say, "If one person stays we all stay." In my case, however, If I stay everyone else leaves and if someone else stays I stay. I really isn't fair but I cannot convince my boss otherwise.

Anyway... I went surfing today,

I found this sweet car

It's called a Bugatti Veyron

Price: $1.3 million
16 cylinder engine -- the Bugatti can go from 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds and reach top speeds of 253 mph. Its reality was doubted by many when the Veyron was proposed as a concept by top execs at VW, but the car is indeed in production.

Can you lend me some money?

I came across this new type of art a couple weeks ago. I stunbled onto it again today. The art is based on one perspection or position. When you change your position the art is not what is seemed.

Can you see the red line? this is something you can easily do with any photo editor. However, this was not done on a computer.

The red line only lines up when you stand in one place otherwise it ends up mess of disconnected lines.

Cool Huh!

For a follow up to yesterday the NY Post ran a cover story about the man whose house blew up
.

blah

I went surfing again today. Nothing that out of the ordinary. I found a family that lives near me on Myspace. I also found one of my brothers and my sister. Weird to see them here. I'm not sure why, after all I am here. I subscribed to their blogs so eventually they will find me.

This guy died today.

I heard his house blew up.

I also saw this cool video about hydrogen power

I also saw a video about this guy who can fly three kites at the same time. It is amazing. I have tried to upload it but it hasn't been working so far. I will try and find another link.

I'm not sure how some guys post so much info to their blogs. Maybe I'm to much of a geek and I filter too much content out. We'll see.

two armed squirrels

There in one unique feature to the lot our house is on. The utility pole in our backyard has a large transformer and the lines feed seven homes from the same pole. Since we have lived here there have been squirrels in the tree in my backyard and they use the power lines from the pole to "commute" to every home and tree in the area.

The squirrels become very territorial. Every once and a while the squirrels chase one another or bark at us when we are in the backyard. Last night, I was grilling some steak and the little buggers started barking/chirping at me. I threw a rock at one of them and he climbed on top of the transformer to continue his barking. I went into the house and heard a large bang. It sounded like a shotgun or m80 had exploded in the backyard. The power went out at the same time.

Poor little guy. His whiskers were all singed and he smelled a little over cooked .

This is the second squirrel this week and the eighth in six years.

I have to scoop them into the garbage as soon as possible or the neighbors little dogs come and try to eat them and tear them apart.

---------------
Yesterday I commented about the little boy in China who was born with three arms. Today he had one of them removed. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I would not want people to put him down for his deformity, but I also would have liked to see the cool things he could have done.

---------------
A week before school was out I went on an overnight campout in Taylor's Canyon above my home.

It was my son's first outing with his his Boy Scout patrol. We had a lot of fun. We camped below the spring in the canyon and the boys hiked to Malan's Peak. There is some develpoment planned for this area. I also have mixed feelings about this. But the reason this is in this blog is, while camping I got into a conversation with one of the boys about a new dinosaur skull they found that looks like a dragons head. In fact they named it 'Dracorex hogwartsia' after Draco Malfoy the boy wizard from Harry Potter's school Hogwarts.

I told him I would find the link and send it to him. I came across the story by accident again today. Since I talked about it I thought I could also blog about it.

---------------
I also saw this image today about the world largest digging machine. It is mobile and the image allows you to see its size as well as its ability to move.

I found this at http://www.swapmeetdave.com/Humor/Workshop/Trencher.htm

When I first saw it, I was reminded of that battle-bots show from the BBC.

Secretdesires

I have been away for several days trying to catch up on my life. I am remodeling my basement and my kids had their last week of school.

I know why I am here. I thought I would try out a blog before I threw money into one. I wanted to see if I have the time and the information to make it worthwhile. Myspace is a weird place and I'm not sure I like it.

I have a co-worker whose daughter has been working as our office receptionist, her name is Toni. Toni basically answers the phone and helps with billing and any other task that needs to be done. Toni does not get paid a lot but she is able to study for school and surf the net when she is not busy.

I noticed that Toni was spending a lot of time on myspace. I asked her a little about it and that's how I got here. [By the way, Toni broke her ankle playing soccer and had surgery last night to try and repair the damage.]

Honestly my impressions of myspace are not good. This seems like a place where teens hide from who they are and make up personas that will garner more friends than Tom. The other tenants are adults who hide from who they are and make up personas of teens, or adults who are sexual deviants out for a quick fix. Then there are the local police who are out for their 15 minutes of fame on Dateline NBC. They troll for the sexual deviants acting like the teens who act like sexual deviants. I also don't like the bots who advertise for other web sites or businesses. [No, I don't want to pay money to take a survey to make money].

Secretdesires is a "person" on myspace from my "neighborhood". She is always online and requests Girls Only. She can't be a real person and if she is, she's hiding from something. I feel sorry for her.

Anyway, I will stick around blogging until my feet are wet or tired.

I found this sweet photo captioned Mordor today while I was surfing.

As I have said before I would love to take up photography. [The man who owned our home before us had a dark room in the basement. I have to admit this was one of the things that attracted me to the home.]
I found this image at http://zenith9.my-expressions.com
.

Over the weekend I saw this image of a boy that was born with three arms.

I don't want to disrespect this boy but imagine all the cool things you could do with three arms. I wouldn't want him to become a side-show act but there is potiental for fun there.

I also came across this cool image.

It simply says smoking effects your brain. I'm not taking a shot at the smokers out there. I know exactly how poeple get hooked on this stuff. But even smokers know they need to quit.

My son and I went for a walk this morning at the track at Ogden High. It is interesting to see the people who are out and about in your neighborhood in the mornings. It is also interesting to see those who exercise for their health and those who exercise for their body.

Photo kind of a Day

Today has been much better than yesterday. Yesterday when I walked in the door the server was down and one of the laptops wasn't accepting a user's password. Today I have made changes to my favorite website and hassled a programmer about fixes that should have been made in April. [I know who cares.]

My two girly "friends" did not come back. Maybe I'm not as exciting as I thought.....

I went surfing today. Just because I can.

Serbia and Montenegro have been joined by a loose federation since 2003, when the two republics agreed to remain together for three years, after which time either state could hold a referendum on independence. Yesterday citizens of Montenegro voted by a narrow margin to separate from Serbia, according to early poll results.

Now they have to redraw all the maps of Europe

Today I learned the list of the
eight most dangerous search terms
. From now on I will be blogging in an undisclosed location.

-------------

I have been following the story about these computers devloped at MIT. They have been designed for use in third world countries at a cost of about $100 each. Today I saw a picture of one of them.

It has a hand crank to charge its battery and a qwerty keyboard. Sweet!

------------

I really like the feed for
[daily dose of imagery]
. I wish I could develope a talent for photography. I have been viewing this photoblog for over a year. I like this view on the world.

Today
[daily dose of imagery] won a photobloggie. I had never heard of a photobloggie before but congratulations anyway.

Politics and God

I'm not really going to talk about politics and God. I can go there by why?

I surfed today but didn't see much that hit me in the head. I had two girls ask to be my friends. I have a feeling they didn't really want to friends.

I read this blog about Bush's approval rating. It struck home to me :)

Then I flipped to another blog about the Dixie Chicks recanting their apology.

Since I couln't find anything worth reading today I decided to look up the hubble image gallery. I learned about this formation a few weeks ago. It is so beautiful it is worh blogging. [Better than Bush v. Dixie]

This formation is called the 'Eye of God'. It is a cone shaped galaxy with the focus aimed directly at Earth. Beautiful.

Windy Day

Today has already been one of those days. I put some boxes into the back of my truck last night just to get them out of my house. On my way to work this morning they flew out. What a drag.

I ran across this pretty cool
map of Springfield today.

I like my Job. It is a Job but I like it for what it is. I can't relate to this ad but I think it is a very clever idea.

Eleven years ago I lived next door to this apartment. Wow, I hope I didn't just waste my claim to fame.

hmmm.....
24 cans a day for 8 years?

I read
Pink is the New Blog but I'm not sure why. Oops I 've said two to many things about myself this bog.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Hello

Why do people blog? I have read hundreds of blogs. I keep looking for more.
