Is Thinking an Art?

Wow 21 people checked to see if I posted anything today. It feels like that song 'Who Are You? Who, who, who, who.'

First day of school is today. I'm nervous for my oldest son. Our good friend is a little depressed because all of her kids are in school. We can't experience that for five more years.

I surfed today....

I found this third picture of the boat I have been raving about.

It is amazing what perspective and point of view can do. This doesn't even seem like the same ship. There seems to be more to it than the other pictures present. It also appears to be made out of more metal than I first thought. I really like this series.

I have blogged recently about the missing NASA tapes of the first man on the moon. Today I read this interesting article about Australian film producer and rock video director Peter Clifton who had ordered pristine 16-millimetre film reel in 1979 for a rock film he was making about Pink Floyd's The Dark Side Of The Moon but forgot he had it until seeing a news report on television recently.

This is not the strip NASA has been looking for but it may provide clues to the whereabouts of the films.

I also read an article about the 'Top Ten Rock Movies' on ign.com. They list them as:

10. Purple Rain
9.  Hedwig and The Angry Inch
8.  The Doors
7.  Tommy
6.  Sid and Nancy
5.  The Buddy Holly Story
4.  Jailhouse Rock
3.  A Hard Day's Night
2.  This Is Spinal Tap
1.  Almost Famous

I can say I agree with this list. Pink Floyd is missing. 'This is Spinal Tap' should be #1.  Walk the Line deserves a nod above, 'The Buddy Holly Story'. What would you rank? 'The School of Rock'? 'Rock Star?'

I'm not sure If I have blogged about the 'Visions of Science Photographic Awards' but I know I have never posted these pictures.

I like to check snopes every once and a while just to do a reality check. Like when I hear that 'Mars will appear in the sky as large as the moon' or 'Gangsters will kill you if you flash your headlights'.

Today, however, was different.

I saw this clipping and just had to check it out. I must have been photoshopped, right? Nope Snopes says this is the real deal. Some people can't help but be stupid.

It reminds me of this bus ad I saw.

Great idea!

Right after I graduated from Weber State I worked for 'The Child Abuse Prevention Center'. Steve Franks, who I think still works there, used to do a presentation about appearances and what we think we see. He would use optical illusions to demonstrate his ideas. After I left I would email Steve different illusions I came across. Since then I have gathered a collection of them I have never emailed. Today I came across one I have not seen before. I thought I would share.

This is the story of a friendship that changes the course of rock history forever, of the fateful collision of minds between JB and KG that led to the creation of the precedent-shattering band Tenacious D, and of the two heroes quest to find the fabled 'Guitar Pick Of Destiny'

What do you think it will be rated?

I found another Photoblog, this one is from Gary Parker.

This site is not very deep but I really like this pic.
