What a difference a week makes -- Vote today!

This has been the longest break in my blog except for my Yellowstone Vacation. Things at work have not been going well. I don't want to go into a lot of detail but my posts may be less frequent for a while. I apologize to those who are daily readers. I hope this issue will be resolved in the near future.

I have been saving items from the last week to post, it ain't easy surfin' cheesy...

This is kind of a follow-up. On July 25th, I blogged about the U.S. Postal service releasing DC Comic Hero Stamps. I found an article about their plans to release a similar set of Marvel Heroes!!

Lick and stick spiderwoman, sweet!
-------------------

I saw an interesting article called, 'Inventions for Lazy People'.

5. The Escalator.
4. The Toilet.
3. La-Z-Boy
2. Calculator.
1. Velcro.

---------------

I have seen these images floating around the Internet for the past week. There are of 'Modern Traffic in Russia'

This is what Orem looks like after a BYU game.

I think this is a 12 lane road.

It looks like the cars have moved about a block!

--------------

I have a follow-up of the 'Behind the scenes of the marvel/guiding light cross-over'.

WOW!! Wolverine and Spiderman. Marvel has pulled out all the stops

With all that is going on I forgot to record the show, I even forgot to ask my wife if she saw it.

Nice Fishnets!!
-----------------

I found another item to add to my wish list. I'm forgetting what else I have put on the list but this is close to the top.

This is a Laser Turntable. It plays records without using a needle. Think how easy it would be to turn my vinyl collection to MP3's with this baby!!!

Hojas sobre tronco

Vi este gran cuadro de hojas en un pedazo de madera. No puedo hacer hacia fuera el título así que utilicé el Babel Fish para calcular fuera de lo que dijo. Oh bien, debo tener saber. ¡Ahora usted puede saber también!
---------------

I came across this site called 'September 12th'.

The directions say this is not a game. It is a simulation. You cannot win or lose. The rules are deadly simple. You can shoot or not. This is a simple model you can use to explore some aspects of the war on terror.

The moral I got out of this site is that you can't learn until you shoot.
---------------

National Geographic put out this great shot of 'Fog and the Golden Gate'.

-------------------------

Have you seen the site that shows the 'Top 100 Hubble Images'?

[Sombrero Galaxy]

I have seen it and it is worth a visit!

Wow.
---------------------------

Sorry about the weeks worth of great photos.

JR Photoblog - Mont Royal by Night #2
------------------

I'm not sure if this is street art or street advertising but seaing is believing.

'Mind that Child!!'

Homer says, 'Chocolate surf, aaaaawwwwww!!!'
-------------------------
I came across this site called 'Non Stop Masti - The Beauty of Mathemagic' and thought what is 'Mathemagic'.

1 x 8 + 1 = 9
12 x 8 + 2 = 98
123 x 8 + 3 = 987
1234 x 8 + 4 = 9876
12345 x 8 + 5 = 98765
123456 x 8 + 6 = 987654
1234567 x 8 + 7 = 9876543
12345678 x 8 + 8 = 98765432
123456789 x 8 + 9 = 987654321

1 x 9 + 2 = 11
12 x 9 + 3 = 111
123 x 9 + 4 = 1111
1234 x 9 + 5 = 11111
12345 x 9 + 6 = 111111
123456 x 9 + 7 = 1111111
1234567 x 9 + 8 = 11111111
12345678 x 9 + 9 = 111111111
123456789 x 9 +10= 1111111111

9 x 9 + 7 = 88
98 x 9 + 6 = 888
987 x 9 + 5 = 8888
9876 x 9 + 4 = 88888
98765 x 9 + 3 = 888888
987654 x 9 + 2 = 8888888
9876543 x 9 + 1 = 88888888
98765432 x 9 + 0 = 888888888

Brilliant, isn't it?
And finally, take a look at this symmetry:

1 x 1 = 1
11 x 11 = 121
111 x 111 = 12321
1111 x 1111 = 1234321
11111 x 11111 = 123454321
111111 x 111111 = 12345654321
1111111 x 1111111 = 1234567654321
11111111 x 11111111 = 123456787654321
111111111 x 111111111=123456789 87654321

Ouch, now I know what 'Mathemagic' is.

When I was a kid my sister and I would play with spirograph at our Grandma B's house. According to this site I saw you can no longer purchase spirograph. Luckily, I can relive this childhood experience with spirograph online.

--------------

I found another example of  advertising called 'Gum Ad'.

Sadly it would not work on the street without the picture of the pack of gum. But I think it is catchier and more funny that the 'nose on the cup' I blogged about before.
-----------------

Just a reminder to those of you old enough -- You need to vote today. Apathy aside it's your social responsibility to vote. So do it.

[and try not to cancel out my vote!!!]
-------------

That's it for today!

I'll try not to be gone as long this time.
