Pablo Picasso like blog

Today has been my first really slow day at work for months. I have been fielding calls all day but not much more than that. Tonight we get back on track with visits and my oldest son will have his board of review for his tenderfoot. It figures that it is a raining day and I have plenty of time for surfing....
----------

I'm not sure if I found this first item in the news or in photos.

This structure is know as the Ryugyong Hotel. It is the tallest building in Sojang-dong, North Korea and the tallest building constructed for use as a hotel in the world.

The Ryugyong Hotel is a towering, empty concrete shell that was once intended for use as a hotel. The basic structure is complete, but no windows, fixtures, or fittings have been installed, presumably due to the high cost. According to Emporis the concrete used is of unsuitable quality and therefore unsafe; the building will never open as presently constructed.

What a waste.

During the long weeks of summer I am always asking myself, 'Is it Friday?'.

Now with this site I don't have to look at a calendar anymore. This should have made it on the list of  '25 Sites We Can't Live Without'.
-----------

I also read about a 'transparent TV'

Sony  has created this new rear projection screen and accompanying speakers that are apparently transparent.

OK, I know I haven't started off well with this blog but I'm working on it.

Have you ever heard of Hobo Nickles?

I remember my Grandpa B telling me about them. I have minor coin and stamp collections that he helped me get started on. It seems like he used to have one of these. Anyway, Wikipedia says, 'The hobo nickel is a sculptural art form involving the creative modification of small-denomination coins, essentially resulting in miniature bas reliefs.'

This is a true art. Check out both of the above links for more pictures of this hobo-goodness.

I have rambled on for weeks about this series of photographs of a grounded boat on chromasia. Yesterday I boldly said that this amazing photographer makes it look like there is more than one ship.

[I called it]

I am still impressed by these photographs. [can you see my mouse-pointer from the screenshot I had to make?]. I don't want to babble more and make myself look like an even bigger goof, but wow you have got to check these out.

I am usually pretty good at puzzles.

But this guy called 'Board Dots' really makes you think. No innate abilities for this game on my part. Good luck!

NASA has this website called earthobservatory.nasa.gov where the look at natural events on Earth through satellite imagery.

This Image of a Peruvian volcano jumped out at me today.

I have mentioned before that I subscribe to the National Geographic. Last month I read this article and accompanying pictures about 'What are the odds of dying?'

Heart disease ranks #1 followed by cancer, stroke and car accidents.

Did you see that more people die from executions than from lightning, earthquakes and floods respectively?

I found a new photoblog today called 'these fleeting moments' by Jason Ertel

[Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiccccccccccccccccceeeeeeeeeeeeee]

[sweet]

This is out of place but for some reason this photograph made me think of Large Marge from 'Pee Wee's Big Adventure'.

Check out this awesome 'Concert Ticket Generator'.

This is cool
-----------------

This games is from a site called 'rethinking schools'

This made me re-think my abilities in geography.

Someone found the wrong end of the rainbow.

I am ready for the fall TV season to start. Have you all caught up on Lost?

I will be using this poster to update those who gets killed off the show.
