Poor me, can't live without cool for 50 days - Far out

Hello to all those out there in radio land. This is how our Sunday school always started when we lived on 14th street in Ogden.

I'm finding this blog less than rewarding. I'm not sure what I thought it would be like. Come to think of it there are many things in life that are not as rewarding as I thought they would be.

I tend to give my all to things I am interested in. I have been that way my whole life. I currently have a calling that requires a lot of work. Most of the time people are less than excited to see me knocking on their door. Mainly because they know I am there to 'ask' them to do something. There are also expectations placed on me for they way I should act or behave. I also have expectations of impacts I can make. Nothing is coming together. I have been doing this for more than four years.

I'm sure you know I have never really surfed. I hope to try it one day. I also hope it is nothing like water skiing. I hate to water ski. Water skiing is like trolling for really big fish. Pineview has Tigermuskies, which are really big fish. I surfed at work, no fish.....

Time magazine named its 50 Coolest Websites for 2006. This is a really bland list. How can you decide this? 50 of 1 billion. As I was reading through the article I saw this link to the Time Magazine's '25 Sites We Can't Live Without'. I guess Time is saying, "This list isn't cool but try and live without them." So I checked out the list thinking, "Can I live without them?"

http://www.amazon.com/ - Where could I get a book without Amazon?
http://www.apple.com/trailers/ - Where would I see movie trailers without Apple?

http://www.zappos.com/welcome.zhtml?0723 - Everyone knows this is only one place to get shoes, don't they?

Aaaaahh, that was fun. Honestly though, surfing the Internet is much more enjoyable, interesting and easier with most of the above sites. But I can live without them. The site above that are highlighted above are those I visit at least once a week.  The URLs that are also underlined I visit once a day. Those that are bold and italicized I visit frequently. If they are just italicized then I have herd of them but don't frequent them very often. The rest I had not heard of until I read this article and I can live without.

I read an article from Men's Health magazine titles 'The 100 angriest cities in the U.S.' I always like to see where Ogden ranks in these type of polls since they are based on data such as hypertension rates and crime statistics. Surely Ogden is the tops for Utah.

Keeping with the football theme. I read this article about why 'Passion, tradition elevate college football over NFL'. There is no doubt in my mind this is true.

[passion]

[tradition]
----------------------

I also came across this website about a 'Runner to take on 50 marathons in 50 days'.

I found this website dedicated to the 'feet'. His 21st race will be the St. George Marathon. He will actually compete in this race.
--------------

Keeping the theme of 'going where no man has gone before'. I found a site dedicated to Star Trek Trivia. [Signs up!!!]

The site is called Memory Alpha and is a triumph for Treckers everywhere. Whoever they may be.
---------------

I know I'm out there, but not as far as Voyager - and I don't mean the TV show.

I have been reading about Voyager 1: 'The Spacecraft That Could' Hits New Milestone. On Tuesday, August 15 at 3:13 p.m. Voyager reached a distance of 100 astronomical units from the sun [or 100 times the distance from the Earth to the sun].

Far out man.
----------------

In a related story, 'NASA's New Moon Project Gets a Logo'.

This project will put man back on the moon and then to Mars.
----------------

I also found a fun site called Movie Title Screens.

This site is full of movie titles accompanied with a screen shot of the Movie's Title Screen. Fun, quirky. I wanted to post the 'Pee Wee's Big Adventure' Title screen but it was way to small.
